Does this couple model for a living or do they work in finance?

p.s. thanks to Mary Catherine’s on High St. in Columbus for the awesome
chair in the above left photo.

either way…Brian and Liz are super cute together!!

I love the colors in the photo to the right. One of those ‘barely escaped the rain’ days…

I told Liz to pretend she was dragging Brian through the mall….it may have happened before ๐Ÿ™‚

The reflection of the skyline in the water….loved it!

Dance like no one is watching…..

ok…totally had to make somebody sit on this concrete couch. Liz and Brian were the fortunate couple to get to do this shot ๐Ÿ™‚ We did have to ask the man sitting there if he would mind getting up while we did the picture. He didn’t mind at all …in fact, I think he rather enjoyed watching us take the photo.

The rock.

And last but not least….Walter and Roxie on the bench with Brian and Liz. What a happy family! I think they should be in the wedding!

Oh…..the fun we will have on your wedding day!!!

I met Kari while shooting the Xclaim Dance photos. I instantly felt a connection with her. Her passion for dance, creativity, and life shined liked a star in the night. I met Andy the day of the engagement shoot. It didn’t take long to see why they are so great for each other!

The autumn day and the sunshine combined to make this photo below. (with a little help from my fabulous lighting assistant!)

A new found wall …..YAY!

I just like how the photo on the left makes me feel. It is soft and real. A shoulder to lay on-we all need that from time to time.

Who said Andy couldn’t dance? Look at these moves!

Kari and I decided this sculpture was a of dancer so she copied the pose.

This picture reminds me of my husband and me. He just laughs at me while I do my silly things that make me happy ๐Ÿ™‚

The tough side of Andy and Kari…..

and the fun side….

Oh, the fun we will have on your wedding day!!!

Thank you, Ben & Tessa, for allowing us to be a part of this unique wedding! May you continue to be surrounded with the love of your friends & family ๐Ÿ™‚

When I met with Ben & Tessa they asked if I had ever done a Macedonian wedding. “No, but I would love to…” was my response. They told me beforehand that it would be a mix of Macedonian culture and traditional American. It would be complete with a Macedonian band and an American DJ. They prepared me with a list of moments that would occur throughout the day, which was so helpful. As we love to shoot with a photojournalistic eye, the list prepared us so as not to miss key moments, yet allowed us to be free in keeping our eyes open for other spur of the moment emotions.

So here is part 1 of Ben & Tessa’s special day……

I knew Ben & Tessa’s wedding would be nothing but fun & originality! They chose a picture of their feet -from our engagement session-as the cover picture for their wedding programs.

Tessa looking ultra glamorous in the afternoon light.

Ben was surrounded by friends and family as the Macedonian band played.

The arrival to meet the GodParents. and the dancing continued…..

The tradition of the bride looking through the wedding ring at the groom before the ceremony. Of course, she could only look at his back….she couldn’t see the smile on his face until now ๐Ÿ™‚

The grooms’ brother filled Tessa’s shoe with money until she was happy with the amount!

And now the mystery solved about the handsome groom, shaving cream, a hatchet and a handful of money. Friends and family paid for a chance to shave the groom.

Tessa kicked a bucket of water as she went through the doorway on the way to the ceremony.

I have to say that I love Tessa for her emotions….she cries…she laughs….

and she is real! I want to enter this picture in a contest ๐Ÿ™‚

The GodParents are very much involved with the wedding.

And I can’t end Part 1 without a few portraits. We only had a few moments together, but 3 photographers can get many angles in just a couple minutes ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomorrow I will continue with Part 2….with more portraits of the bride & groom, friends, and the party………..

How does a photo of a gorgeous bride, a handsome groom with a face full of shaving cream, and a man with a hatchet & a handful of money all relate? Find out in a couple days with the full story of Ben & Tessa…

To Be Continued……

This week!

We agreed…This shot is ultra FAB! Maybe Lauren will never be a professional football player, but she sure can hold a football like no one else ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks to Plank’s Bar on High St. for the shot on the left. They were nice enough to let us grab a few pics inside before we headed off to the park.

These were my models for the day…look at the fierce pose on the left!

The light coming through this tree at the park in German Village….oh so sweet!

I love something new….this was new for me. Lauren’s ring shot…on a football!

I knew I wanted to shoot in this direction so I asked them to just do whatever came to them. It was a perfect ending to a fantastically fun photo session!

John & Courtney’s wedding took place at Brookshire in Columbus. I had never photographed a wedding there but it was such a nice surprise. The wedding took place outside in the garden area and the reception inside. The weather decided to cooperate with us that day….YAY! I LOVE LOVE this shot! A little wind and an evening stormy sky…just perfect!

The little spaces around Brookshire made for elegant detail shots.

So many shoes, so little time ๐Ÿ™‚

One of the many reasons I love Courtney….Rockin’ cool blue toe nail polish!!

The light was so perfect for the actual ceremony outside. I couldn’t have asked for more.

The shot on the right was completely out of camera–no photoshopping on the sunflare–it just happened that way! I wanted to jump up and down in aisle when after that click, but I controlled myself ๐Ÿ™‚

THE KISS….

More fabulous light…

I loved the real flowers on the cake. Such an elegant burst of color.

Shot on the right….another SWEET shot straight out of camera.
The shot on the left was taken by our awesome 14 year old daughter who assists on some weddings. She was with me on John & Courtney’s engagement session and they were so wonderful to invite her to wedding as well.

Thanks for all your kindness!! Many happy years together ๐Ÿ™‚
